sho Shin:Beginners Mind

Sho - Shin
The state of shoshin is that of a beginners mind.  It is a state of awareness the    remains always fully conscious, aware, and prepared to see things for the first time.  The attitude of shoshin is essential to continued learning.  O-Sensei once said, “Don’t expect me to teach you.  You must steal the techniques for  yourselves.”  The student must play an active role in every class, seeing with a shoshin mind, in order to steal each day’s lesson

Budo
Budo (martial arts) is not learned as a means of felling an opponent by force or by lethal   instruments.  True budo calls for bringing the inner energy of the universe to order,  protecting the peace of the world, and moulding, as well as preserving, everything in nature in its right form.  Ultimately you will be able to respond to any threat instantaneously and in such a way to be able to avoid being attacked.
